When its 20 degrees & only the beginning of winter an idea pops in your head ....where is it warmer?...and you plan a trip to Florida! We loaded up the van and attempted to make that 12hr trip to visit my Grandma...... well, no 12hrs this time!Olivia hasn't had more than a 5 hr drive going to Va and back, so this was a new experience for us all! We borrowed some DVD's from our friends- Elmo and Einstein saved the day. She did ok... its just that the trip passed the 12hr mark around 10pm on the first day. We found a great hotel just outside of Orlando close to midnight and finished the last 3 hours on Monday morning.
It was so good to see Grandma. She loved a visit with Olivia & her friends did as well. We went out to Sanibel, took a trip to Sweet Tomatoes *Gma's favorite*, & a new pizza place to name a few. After a few days in warm & sunny Florida we were back on the road late Thursday morning...this time a 14hr drive straight through & we made it home at midnight.
It was a great trip. The weather was so nice & our time with Grandma is priceless. She's coming up to VA in April so we're looking forward to seeing her again soon!
