She's Walking!

Olivia took her 1st step on Sunday January 9th. We were at Granny's for my birthday lunch & James saw her- the rest of us missed it! That week she would venture out only a step or 2, but we were so proud! The week after her birthday she'd take several independent steps, and the following week she was walking across the room & taking off! Seth called her "scarecrow" & "cowgirl" at 1st because she walked wide & slow! Over time she's become stable, steady, & walks everywhere. She also learned to climb the stairs & thinks it is so fun! She is very good though- she knows not to go near them without mom to dad!

Happy 1st Birthday Olivia!

Happy 1st Birthday to our baby girl!
We had a wonderful day celebrating Olivia with our family & friends. She is one loved little girl!

Everyone was anxiously awaiting her 'cake face' since she hasn't been exposed to many sweets before her birthday. Sad to say you won't get a messy cake face from Miss Priss! She was ALL about the sprinkles! She picked them off 1 tiny sprinkle by 1 & never really attacked the icing or cupcake. We tired to encourage her along, but she just wasn't having it! She really just wanted her goldfish back!

Our playroom is full of lots of new toys! She is hilarious as she crawls through her tunnel playing hide & seek, was amazed by the bubbles that shoot out of her bubble bug, she loves to play w/ My Pal Violet (so cool that you program it for your child!), & of course she loves to eat all her new little people! Tons of other new toys she enjoys too! Thank you for all the gifts & your thoughtfulness!

Well, now the counter is moving towards 2. Our little girl is growing so fast & we have loved watching her at every stage. She is so full of personality now & makes us laugh! She had her 12 month check up on Tuesday & the Doc just kept laughing at her- our little ham! She is right on target & doing well: weight 50%, length 90%, & head 88%.

She is babbling up a storm & slowly mastering walking. She will take up to 2 steps at a time on her own now. She'll take off in no time & then there will be no stopping her!

We are so blessed to be her parents & are overwhelmed with love for her. We've enjoyed looking back over the past year, through all the pictures, remembering special moments, & even some we would like to forget! It has been a wonderful year & we look forward to all that is ahead!

Happy Birthday to our baby girl- we love you Olivia Paige!

Long Overdue...

I haven't posted in 3 weeks......not even a Christmas update or snow pics...I am behind!

Truth be told, I have been putting it off. I haven't checked the blog because I am avoiding the ticker! Today it says Olivia will be 1....1 week from today.

We are very excited to celebrate her 1st birthday. A year full of precious moments & memories, but how did it get here so fast? We are so thankful for all the special people who love her & all those who will celebrate with us. It will be a special day & well worth the celebration, but does she really have to turn 1? It seems like just yesterday we brought her home. This year has changed our lives & I can't even imagine life before her anymore, but how has it gone by so fast?

I have loved every minute of the last 358 days. Every milestone along the way as she has grown & changed. At each stage I've said, "this is my favorite age", & the momma in me knows that every stage will be my 'favorite' as she grows (well, maybe not the moody teen years!!). It is just hard to believe a year has almost passed. I do get 6 more days with my 11 month old!

Next week it will be cupcakes & tissues! Can't wait to celebrate, but sure I'll have my momma moments too! Look out for TONS of pics!!

Can't post without a picture! Our snowman without eyes! Next time it snows we'll have a well dressed snowman thanks to Cameron! Can't wait to use the snowman kit! Hoping Wilmington gets enough snow tomorrow that he'll get to use his!
